Dad’s Prayer for December 17th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You remember the love of Israel's youth. You hold the early days in Your mind, even when life got hard and complicated. That comforts me.

There were times early on when loving You felt simple. Then years happened. Now my love is more careful. More tired. More layered. But You have not forgotten the beginning.

Bring some of that early warmth back this week, where You can. Not living in the past, but with fresh affection. The God who walked with me when I was lost, is the same God walking with me now.

Lord Jesus, You remember. Help me remember, too. Let some of the early fire warm the road I am on right now.

Amen.
