Dads
Dad’s Prayer for December 6th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says that people who belong to You share something deep. Not the same looks or style, but the same life inside.
I have seen it. A new neighbor lights up when she finds out we share a faith. A man I just met at church, and I start talking like we have known each other for years. Strangers who are not really strangers.
Help me look for that this week. Help me see the family resemblance in people I do not yet know. Help me act like a brother to other believers, even the ones I am just meeting.
Lord Jesus, You brought us into one family by Your blood. Let me live like it today.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
