Dads
Dad’s Prayer for December 5th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You said to ask, and it will be given to me. Most of what I need right now, I have not asked for. I have just worried about it.
So today I ask. Father, I need patience tonight. Father, I need wisdom about this work decision. Father, I need You to help me be present with my kids.
Lord Jesus, You taught us to ask. Make me a man who asks instead of one who silently worries. Open my mouth on what I have been carrying alone.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
