Dads
Dad’s Prayer for November 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Isaiah 33:21 says You will be like wide rivers and streams to us. Where You are, even dry places get water. There is no shortage with You.
I have been living like my soul is a desert that only gets a sip now and then. But the streams are real. Most of my dryness comes from staying in the wrong place, not from You holding back.
Move me toward the streams this week. Help me read the Bible slowly. Help me take the Lord's Supper with real attention. Give me a conversation about something deeper than just the schedule. Help me sing at church instead of just standing there. These are the small streams that flow from Your wide river.
Lord Jesus, You are the source of the water. Bring me to the streams. Let my home start to feel watered, not dry, because of how I drink from You.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
