Dads
Dad’s Prayer for November 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You have already fought for me. You have already rescued me. That is done. The cross, the resurrection, my place in Your family — it is finished.
But I keep living like my rescue is still coming. I keep waiting for something that has already happened. Help me look back today. Show me the small ways You carried me through this week. Show me the season I was sure would break me, but You walked me through it. The forgiveness I need is already mine.
When I look back, the reason to trust You with tomorrow is overwhelming.
Lord Jesus, You have already redeemed me. Help me live today from the side of a finished rescue, not from the side of an emergency that is still out of control.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
