Dads
Dad’s Prayer for November 11th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your arms are underneath me. That truth from Deuteronomy 33:27 is worth hearing again and again because I keep needing it.
Your arms are not temporary. They do not depend on how I behaved this week. They were under me this morning when I prayed and at lunch when I forgot. They were under me when I kept my temper and when I lost it. They were under me last year when I was far from You, and they will be under me next year.
Help me trust Your arms without taking them for granted. Being held by You should not make me lazy. It should give me courage to work and to love without fear. The man who knows he is held can take risks for You.
Lord Jesus, You hold me whether I notice or not. Let me live today knowing that grip will not let go. Let me give and forgive and obey, because Your arms are not going anywhere.
Amen.
