Dad’s Prayer for October 10th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Jude 24 says You will present me faultless before You with great joy. Faultless. I am not faultless today. I was impatient. I snapped at someone. I let my mind go where it should not have gone. That verse is about my future. Right now, I am still in the middle.

But the faultlessness is what You are working toward, not what You demand from me today. The work is going well. The end is sure. The middle is messy.

Help me live in the messy middle without giving up. The wrong I see in me is not the last word. What You are doing in me is. One day, I will stand before You in a way I cannot even picture yet. Until then, I will keep showing up and let You keep working on me.

Lord Jesus, You will finish what You started. Take that future promise and bring it into my today. Let it hold me steady. This season I am in will not last. You see the long road, and You are not done.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
