Dad’s Prayer for September 30th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 66:2 says to sing out the honor of Your name and make Your praise glorious. September is over, and I have not done much honoring. I have logged tasks, paid bills, navigated hard conversations, and mostly forgotten You between the events.
I do not need to schedule a worship service. I need to spend one ordinary minute today telling You back what I see about You. Father, You held this family through a strange month. You provided what we needed. You did not abandon the situation I was sure was hopeless.
So I will not act like this month was an accident. I will say out loud that Your hand was on it.
Lord Jesus, You taught us to start with hallowed be Your name. Let me start now. Then let me carry that honoring into a quiet October.
Amen.
