Dads
Dad’s Prayer for September 27th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says Your people are happy, not because life is easy, but because You save them. Israel complained a lot, yet You still called them blessed. That is not about their mood. It is about their standing.
I am not always happy in the way the word usually means. I am tired. I am sometimes discouraged. But my standing does not change with my mood. I am a man saved by You. That is true at 6 a.m. when the alarm rings, and at 9 p.m. when I can barely remember the day.
Let that truth sink into my heart, even slowly. Not a fake smile, but a deep rest in knowing where I stand and with whom. When the small troubles of the day come, let them land without knocking me down.
Lord Jesus, You have made me one of Your happy people. Let that work through this week's complications.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
