Dads
Dad’s Prayer for September 18th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You told us in Galatians 5:25 that if we live by the Spirit, we should also walk by the Spirit. I confess that my walking and my believing do not always match.
I say forgiveness is real, then hold back at home. I say You provide, then act like I am the only safety net. I say Christ is enough, then chase reassurance from clicks and email replies.
Make my walking catch up with my believing this week, not in big showy steps, but in small, steady ones. Right after this prayer, show me the next thing the Spirit is asking me to do, and help me do it.
Lord Jesus, You walked in obedience all the way to the cross. Walk with me today, one honest step at a time.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
