Dads
Dads Prayer for August 19th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Micah 5:4 says Jesus is a shepherd-king. Not just a king far away giving orders. A shepherd who knows His sheep by name and walks right beside them.
Help me let Him lead me like that. Slow me down when I am running too hard. Push me when I am stalling. Use the staff when I need it — the interruptions, the redirections, the hard conversations I did not ask for.
I keep trying to run my own life. It does not work. I end up worn out in some areas and empty in others. I give it back to You, the One who actually shepherds.
Lord Jesus, You are my shepherd. I shall not want. Keep that promise for me this Tuesday. Lead me to one quiet place, even for a moment, before the afternoon gets loud.
Amen.
