Dads
Dad’s Prayer for July 29th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says I am always with You. That changes everything. Whatever I just admitted about myself, You did not leave. You are still holding my hand.
Most dads I know find that picture awkward. Grown men do not hold hands. But it is not weak — it is the truth. You are walking me through this day. Not watching from far away. Right beside me, holding on.
Make me steady because of that grip. The meeting I dread, the conversation with my teenager, the slow rebuild of a friendship — I do not have to face any of these alone. You are with me.
Lord Jesus, You said You would not leave. Hold me through the next twelve hours, the slow ones and the sharp ones. Let the calm in me today come from Your nearness, not from my own strength.
Amen.
