Dads
Dad’s Prayer for July 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Psalm 73:22, Asaph said he was like a beast before You—stupid and ignorant. That is more honest than I usually let myself be.
Most days, I think I have things under control. But without You, I am not as wise as I pretend. I get pushed around by hunger for comfort, by pride, by fear, by whatever is loudest in my head.
I am not worthless. I am just lost when I leave You out of the picture.
Do not crush me with this truth. I am not asking for despair. I am asking for clear eyes. Show me how much of my day was just reacting—instead of choosing what is right.
Be my center. Be the One who steadies me when I am all over the place.
Lord Jesus, You hold me even when I act on impulse rather than in trust. By Your patience, bring me back to who I was made to be.
Amen.
