Dads
Dad’s Prayer for July 26th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Peter wrote about adding good things to faith — doing what is right, learning to know You, holding on when it is hard, and not giving up. These do not come from one big moment. They come from small, quiet choices every day.
I want to feel sure of You, but I keep skipping the steps that build that sure feeling. I read a little and think that is enough. I want the harvest without the hoeing. But You are faithful to grow me when I show up each day.
Build into me the small, daily habits that add up over time. The self-control to walk past the snack. The strength to finish what I start. The wisdom that comes from slow reading instead of scrolling.
Make me patient with my own slow growth. I am not going to be a different man by Sunday. But by December, I might be a little better — if I keep adding the small things every day.
Lord Jesus, You are not in a hurry with me. Help me stop being in a hurry with myself.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
