Dads
Dad’s Prayer for June 30th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Jesus said He gave us the glory You gave Him. I cannot fully understand that. But I can sit with it. The glory He had with You before the world began is now handed to people like me. That is not a slogan. That is staggering. I am grateful. I am humbled. I am bewildered that I am included. I have been given glory I did not earn. Help me receive it gladly. Whatever comes next, let that be the headline: Your glory is mine, and I did nothing to deserve it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
