Dad’s Prayer for June 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You promised to sift Your people but not lose a single grain. That is me right now. A long, unsettled season at work. A few friendships in transition. The slow process of not being sure about things I used to be sure about. Sift away. Take what needs to go. The part of me that is real and true will not fall. Even in the shaking, You keep what matters. Hold what matters gently. Let the rest blow away. I will be lighter for it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
