Lord Jesus, You said, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish." That word "never" is the one that quiets me at night. Never perish. Whatever happens this year, my life with You is secure. The car accident, I imagine. The medical scan that comes back wrong. The accident at a job site. None of these can undo the gift You have given. Free me from the fear that something out there can take me from You. Nothing can. I am Yours. Your hand is around me like a shepherd's grip. Let me sleep tonight not just believing that in my head, but resting in it with my whole heart.
