Dads
Dad’s Prayer for June 13th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You said, "Whoever is thirsty, let them come and drink freely." That offer still stands. I keep acting like I have to earn my place at Your table. But You said freely. Not after I perform. Not after I get it right. Just freely. Today, I take the water You offer. I stop hesitating. I drink. And then help me notice someone else who is thirsty. Someone at work, in my family, or in my neighborhood. Let me share the same invitation You gave me. The gift is for them, too. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
