Dads
Dad’s Prayer for June 8th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the battles I fight in my own strength wear me out. But the battles You call me to seem to lead somewhere. Help me know which is which. Today I have a project at work, a parenting choice to make, and a money decision to face. I give them to You before I start. If a battle is Yours, supply the strength I do not have. If it is one I made up on my own, no amount of hard work will make it right. Help me tell the difference. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
