Dads
Dad’s Prayer for May 30th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, Your Word says, "Catch the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vines." I know the big sins get all the attention. But the small things are ruining my life too. The phone scrolling when I should be sleeping. The small lies I tell myself. The grudges I hold onto. None of these makes the news. But they are slowly ruining the good things You have given me — my marriage, my work, my time with You. Catch those small sins today. Help me name them out loud instead of hiding them. I do not need a big battle. I need You to remove the little foxes before they finish the damage. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
