Dads
Dad’s Prayer for May 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, Paul wrote that those You made right, You also glorified. He wrote it in the past tense, as if it were already done. That changes an ordinary Tuesday. The glory I am moving toward is not a maybe. It is so certain that You could speak of it as finished. So the small frustrations of today cannot change the outcome. Let me work with quiet confidence, not arrogance. By the end of this year, and by the end of my life, I will be with You, fully transformed. That settles the panic I feel about being unfinished right now. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
