Dads
Dads Prayer for May 25th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I come to You with the cry of Psalm 38: "Do not leave me." I am not in crisis today, but I want to keep this prayer in my pocket. The day could turn. Trouble could come. Even on quiet days, this prayer is right: Do not forsake me. Stay near. Be ready when I call. Let me learn these words now, before I need them. Then, when trouble comes, the prayer will already be on my lips. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
