Dads
Dad’s Prayer for May 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, Your Word says to walk as You walked. That standard is high. I will not do it perfectly today. But help me follow You in small ways. The way You looked at the person others ignored. The way You stopped for the question that was not convenient. The way You told the truth without shaming the one who asked. Help me do a few of those things today. Not to show off. But because I have been watching You, and I want it to become part of how I live. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
