Dads
Dad’s Prayer for May 11th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You said, "I am with You always, even to the end of the world." That promise holds me together even when I do not feel it. You are with me this hour. You are with me in the awkward conversation I am bracing for. You are with me in the long, quiet stretch of the afternoon when nothing big happens. You are with me in the moments of clarity and in the moments of doubt. Your promise does not depend on me sensing it. It depends on who You are, and You do not change. So I walk into this day knowing I am not alone. That changes how I work. That changes how I treat the people in the room. Even the smallest task is done with You beside me. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
