Dads
Dad’s Prayer for May 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says You have already blessed me with every spiritual blessing through Christ. It is done. I do not need to apply for what You have already given. You chose me. You adopted me as Your own. You redeemed me. You sealed me with Your Spirit. These are mine right now. I do not need to qualify. I need to receive. So today, instead of asking for what You have already given, let me sit with it long enough to absorb it. Then let me go to work as a man who has been blessed, not a man trying to earn a blessing. Posture matters. Yours is the posture I want. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
