Dads
Dad’s Prayer for April 29th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, You are my hope for the hard days. Not just when the bad day gets here. You are the hope I name right now, before anything goes wrong.
I am not in a terrible season today. But I have been in them before. And I will be in them again. So let me set my anchor in You right now. Not in the bank account. Not in my marriage going well at the moment. Not in the kids being healthy. Not in how good I am at handling things. In You.
Because if those other things fall apart — and someday some of them will — the anchor still holds.
Plant that truth deep in me while the sky is blue. So that when the sky turns gray, I will not be scrambling to find solid ground.
Amen.
