Dad’s Prayer for April 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, here is a bold prayer I am usually too polite to pray — so I will pray it anyway. Remember the promise You made to me. Remember the word You spoke through Scripture about Your faithfulness. Remember the word You spoke when I gave my life to You. Remember the promise that has steadied me through harder seasons than this one — the long nights, the heavy choices, the days I showed up tired. You will remember. I know You will. But there is something honest about asking You anyway. It keeps me leaning on You, not on my own memory of You. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
