Dads
Dad's Prayer for April 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I come to You with Job's words on my lips: "I know that my Redeemer lives." Job said that from the worst time of his life. I have not walked through what he walked through, and still this truth steadies me. Jesus is not just someone I read about. He is alive right now. So when I pray, I am not talking into an empty room. You hear me. The hand that holds mine is warm and real. Let that truth be the solid ground under my feet today. You are not done with Your work. You are not done with me. I can face this day because You are alive, and You are with me. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
