Dads
Dad’s Prayer for April 19th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, when Jesus died, the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. That means You opened the way to Yourself. You did it. I did not earn it. I keep acting like I have to be good enough to come back to You each week. But the way is already open. Help me come to You boldly today. Not careless. Boldly. With the weight of a man who knows what it cost, and the freedom of a man who knows the door is open. That is how I want to pray.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
