Dads
Dad's Prayer for April 10th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the cross was not just an idea. It happened on a real hill, outside the city, where people had been killed before. Christ died in a real place, in real time, for real sins, including mine. Help me see that clearly. Make me a man who keeps the cross in front of me, not as something dark, but as the place I come back to when I forget how much You love me and how serious my sin is. Both are settled in one death. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
