Dads
Dad’s Prayer for April 7th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, Psalm 4 asks how long we will turn Your glory into shame. That question puts me in the hot seat. The glory I have turned into shame is the gift of being made in Your image. I have twisted it by small dishonesties, by looking down on others, by casual cruelty in my tone of voice. Restore the glory. Restore the obedience. Not because I can earn it back, but because Your grace makes me new. Where I can repair, prompt me. The text message to apologize. The conversation I should have. The pattern I should break. None of these will undo the past. But they will line my present up with Your good design for it. Start that today.
Amen.
