Dad’s Prayer for April 6th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I admit it. I want people to like me. I have built my life around the approval of others — at work, at home, even at church. But Your Word calls me to step outside that safe place and follow You, even when it costs me. Help me this year. Give me the courage to take the hard stand at work. Help me hold to what is right, even when family or friends are uncomfortable. Help me stand on Your truth, even when the room has changed around me. And when I step out, be with me there. I do not want to do this alone. Be my company outside the camp. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
