Father, I have been keeping You at arm's length. My prayers have been polite and correct, but cold. I talk to You like a stranger, not like my Dad. I want more than rules from You. I want to know You love me. Help me stop hiding behind safe words. Teach me to come close to You with honesty. Then maybe I will stop hiding from the people in my house, too. Amen.
