Dads
Dad’s Prayer for March 16th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, David said, 'I am a stranger here with You.' Even kings lived on this earth as guests. I have been acting like my house, my job, and my body are mine forever. They are not. Help me hold them the right way. Not so tight that I forget they come from You. Not so loose that I stop caring. I am passing through. The work, the family, the daily load—these are real. But they are not my forever home. Let me care for them like someone who is watching over what belongs to You. The final count is Yours.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
