Dads
Dad’s Prayer for March 15th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord,
Your Word says, "Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus." That strength is not in me. It is in Your grace, and that grace is in Christ.
So strengthen me in what You have already given. Do not let me show up to today's work pretending I made my own strength. Help me lean on You. Help me work from Your grace instead of trying to earn it.
By the end of this day, let one clear act of kindness come out of the strength You gave me first — in how I speak, in how I listen, in how I show up for someone right in front of me.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
