Dads
Dad’s Prayer for March 3rd
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, You said You chose me in the hard place. Not around it. Not after it. Right in the middle of it. That changes the part of my story I have been complaining about. The hard year did not knock me out of Your plan. The marriage rough patch, the death in the family, the work setback — none of those took me off Your list. That is where You wrote my name down. Hold my wife steady. Hold the kids in the next room steady. And hold my friend who is walking through his own hard season right now. Help me stop reading my pain as proof that You walked away. You are at work even here. Especially here. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
