Dads
Dad’s Prayer for March 1st
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I have been keeping my life too safe. Shielding myself from anything that might shake my comfort zone. I do not want to hear hard feedback. I keep putting off a conversation I need to have. There is someone I owe an apology to, and I have been avoiding it. Lord, let some wind in this week. Bring the hard things I have been running from. I know the good stuff is on the other side of what I do not want to face. I am asking, even though I would rather not have to live with what I just asked for.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
