Dads
Dad’s Prayer for February 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 62:5 says my expectation is from You. That is a strong word. Not just a wish. A real expectation. I admit I have been putting that weight on the wrong things. I expect my wife to know what I am thinking. I expect my kids to be quieter than kids really are. I expect someone at work to say sorry first. I am asking You to move that expectation back where it belongs. On You. Not because You will give me what I want. Because You will give me what is right, today I choose to expect Your faithfulness. Help me let go of the other demands I keep carrying. Then I can love the people in my home without keeping score against a list they never saw. Amen.
