Dad’s Prayer for February 25th

A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, I get uncomfortable when I hear about Your wrath. But Your wrath is not small or mean. It is how seriously You take the sin that is destroying the people You love. I have been acting like my sin is just part of who I am — like it is no big deal. Show me how serious it really is, and then turn my eyes to the cross. Jesus bore the wrath I deserved. That is not a sentence of fear. That is relief. That is the good news written on my heart. Because I see what my sin cost Him, I do not want to hold onto it one more day. Help me let it go. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
