Dads
Dad’s Prayer for February 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You promised to send the rain in its season. Showers of blessing, not on my schedule, but Yours. I have been trying to plan when You show up. Trying to force the good part. Trying to skip the dry stretch I am in right now. This season is heavy. Some days I feel like nothing is growing at all. But if this is a season for waiting, help me wait well. If this is a season for quiet growth no one can see, help me not brush it off. When the rain comes, it will come from You. Until then, let me take in what is already here. The ordinary food in front of me. The next plain responsibility. Enough for today. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
