Dads
Dad’s Prayer for February 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, You promised You would never leave me. I read that promise and still forget it too often. Today, let it move from words on a page to truth I live by. When I walk into a hard meeting, You are in the room. When I drive home, You are in the car. When the hour after dinner feels long, You are in the kitchen. I do not need to feel You to know it is true. You did not leave when I was distracted. You did not leave when I was angry. You did not leave when I chose the screen over prayer. You stayed. So I will go into this day as one who is not alone, even when nothing inside me proves it.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
