Dads
Dad's Prayer for February 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, Your word is enough. Hebrews 13:5 says, 'He hath said,' and that settles it. When I am ten meetings deep, and nothing feels steady, let 'He hath said' be the floor under my feet. You will not leave me. You are enough for my house. You will guide the next step, even when I cannot see it. Today, when everyone's voice is loud, and the opinions pile up, let what You already said be the ground I stand on. I do not need a new word from You. I need to act on the one You have already spoken. Help me believe it. Then help me move. The whole day is Yours, and what You have said is plenty to walk on. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
