Dads
Dad’s Prayer for February 15th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, today is part of now. Boring meetings. Errands I will forget. A long evening of homework patrol. Somehow, all of it is part of the glory You are due. Help me see it that way. Not that the work becomes amazing. That it becomes Yours. Whatever I do, let me do it in Your name. Not because it is big, but because it is pointed at You. By bedtime, let one or two small things have pointed back to You without my having to say a word. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
Verses to pray
