Dads
Dad’s Prayer for February 13th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says You love me so much that You call me Your child. Not someday. Now. Already given. Plant me in that name today. I am not trying to earn it. I am already wearing it. The day ahead does not get to decide if I am Yours. You already decided. So the boss's mood does not get a vote. My teenager's eye-roll does not get a vote. The mistake I am still embarrassed about does not get a vote. Help me carry Your name with the quiet confidence of a man who did not invent it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
