Dads
Dad's Prayer for January 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, Paul said his goal was to present every person complete in Christ. That is a long road. I am not pretending it is short. But aim me down it today. Not toward the version of me that looks good to others. Toward the version You are actually forming — slower, quieter, more useful to the people right in front of me. Let today's small acts of obedience be a few feet along that road. Help me forgive the colleague before the hurt grows. Help me call my dad before another month slips by. Help me not bring my work mood into my home. None of that gets me to complete. But it gets me one step further than I was last night. And that is enough for one day. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
