Dads
Dad's Prayer for January 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, the Lamb who already won, line me up with that truth today. Whatever I do in the next ten hours, let me do it under Your gaze. Spreadsheets done as if You were standing there. Emails written as if the room were holy. Tone of voice at the kitchen table as if eternity were in the next room. Not because I have to perform. Because it makes the small things real. You have already won. That is the long story. Let me work like a man who knows the long story and is unhurried about the next ten hours. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
