Dads
Dad’s Prayer for January 10th
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, a coworker got promoted today, and I felt small. Paul wrote about a crown that You have stored up for him because he lived for You. His eyes were on something bigger than a title. Help me see like that. This sting will fade. But what You are doing in me will last. Help me be glad for my coworker without faking it. Help me work hard today without needing a promotion to prove I matter. When I start comparing again, remind me that You are the Judge, not me. Let that be enough.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
