Dads
Dad’s Prayer for January 3rd
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, I have been measuring myself again by my title and how busy my day is. You are the gift. Not something I have to earn. Help me sit with that before I start running. I do not have to prove myself to You every morning. Your love does not change because of what I do or do not do. So let me work today as a man who is already loved, not a man trying to earn the next bit of kindness. Let me come home tonight without listing all the things I did to deserve the people waiting there. They are a gift, too. Help me receive them that way, instead of treating them like another test I have to pass. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
