Dads
Dad’s Prayer for January 2nd
A short, Scripture-shaped dads prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, I come to You at the start of a busy day. My phone is full of messages. The world already wants my attention. But I want to keep talking to You all day long. Help me pray in small pieces while I drive. While I wait. While I do simple tasks. Do not let me think real prayer needs perfect quiet. Let my short prayers count. Let my honest words in the car count. Keep me close to You from morning to night even when I am distracted. Even when I do not know what to say, teach me to keep praying all day. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
