Prayer for young adults

Father,

Abel kept sheep. Cain worked the ground. Genesis 4:2. Two brothers, two ordinary jobs. What mattered was not the work but how they gave it to You.

I am embarrassed by how plain my job is. It pays the bills. It will not change the world. I keep waiting for something bigger so I have a better answer when people ask what I do.

But You do not look down on small work. You look at the heart behind it. Abel gave his best. Cain held back. The difference was not the job. It was the offering.

So today I bring You the plain parts of my day. The spreadsheet. The customer email. The meeting that should have been an email. The quiet work no one sees. None of this is too small to give You.

I do not need a more impressive job. I need to give You this one with an honest heart. Make me like Abel in the work I already have, not like Cain waiting for something better.
